Mahindra has launched a 'Tourer Edition' of the Mojo, priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The desi automobile major has bundled in a set of accessories for the price, which is aimed at cementing the Mojo's positioning as an affordable touring motorcycle. Mahindra says the accessories 'have been selected keeping in mind the functional needs of a tourer'.
Over the standard Mojo, the Tourer Edition gets a 13-litre magnetic tank bag, and a couple of saddle bags that have a cumulative storage of 38 litres. Mahindra says that the saddle bags are made of 'ultra-tough denier fabric' for durability. In case the saddle bags don't catch your fancy, a pair of pannier mounts are on offer as well. Other accessories include a mobile holder, a front crash guard and a pair of 20W foglamps that sit on the number plate bracket. Since this is a touring-oriented model, Mahindra is also offering a 'Tourer Jacket' in an introductory offer.
Other than the accessories, the Tourer Edition is identical to the standard Mojo. It packs a 295cc, single-cylinder motor that pumps out 28PS and 30Nm, paired with a six-speed transmission. Goodies include USD front forks, gas-charged monoshock at the rear, and optional Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes both at the front and the rear, but there's no ABS just as yet.
The accessories add roughly Rs 19,000 to the ex-showroom price, which we think is a fair deal.
