The carmaker has a slew of launches planned for 2021.
As 2020 comes to a close, carmakers like Maruti Suzuki and Kia Motors have announced price hikes for their model lineup from January 2021. And now Mahindra has joined the fray in announcing a price hike for its range of passenger and commercial vehicles that will come into effect from January 1, 2021.
The carmaker’s reasoning behind this increment in prices is the increase in commodity prices and various other input costs. At this point, the level of increment hasn’t been revealed, but we expect it to vary depending on the model. Here’s how the lineup is currently priced:
Model |
Starting Price (ex-showroom) |
End Price (ex-showroom) |
KUV100 NXT |
Rs 5.67 lakh |
Rs 7.36 lakh |
XUV300 |
Rs 7.94 lakh |
Rs 12.29 lakh |
Bolero |
Rs 8 lakh |
Rs 9.01 lakh |
Thar |
Rs 9.80 lakh |
Rs 13.75 lakh |
Marazzo |
Rs 11.25 lakh |
Rs 13.59 lakh |
Scorpio |
Rs 12.42 lakh |
Rs 16.27 lakh |
XUV500 |
Rs 13.57 lakh |
Rs 19.30 lakh |
Alturas G4 |
Rs 28.72 lakh |
Rs 31.72 lakh |
Yes, this is a bit of a bummer for those looking to buy a new Mahindra model in 2021, but there is some respite if you’re planning to buy a new model this year. The camarker is offering benefits up to Rs 3.06 lakh on most of its lineup, aside from the Thar. But keep in mind that these offers are only valid till December 31, 2020. That said, customers who booked their Thar until November 30 can still purchase it at the original launch price ranging between Rs 9.80 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Meanwhile, Mahindra has a slew of models planned for 2021 onwards. They include the generation update for the XUV500 and Scorpio, the TUV300 facelift, a petrol-powered Marazzo with an automatic transmission option, and the all-electric iteration of the XUV300.
