The last week had plenty of action including important car launches, carmakers revealing their future plans and announcements from the Union Budget. It started with Mahindra finally launching an AMT variant of the XUV300, followed by the Renault Duster facelift prices being leaked ahead of its launch next week. Aside from that, Kia released details about the interiors and variants that will be offered in the Seltos ahead of its launch. Maruti Suzuki also plans to launch a petrol variant of the Vitara Brezza around August. Mahindra Launches XUV300 AMT At Rs 11.50 Lakh:
After a long wait, Mahindra has finally launched its much awaited XUV300 with an AMT variant at a price tag of Rs 11.50 lakh in India. It will be offered only with the W8 and W8(O) diesel variants and in three shades only -- Red Rage, Aqua Marine and Pearl White. Renault Duster Facelift Prices Leaked Ahead Of Launch:
As Renault India prepares for the launch of the Duster facelift on July 8, recent leaks have revealed the expected prices for the SUV. The leaks reveal that the Duster facelift’s mid-top spec variants could be priced at a slight premium due to additional features on offer. Kia Seltos Interiors, Variants Showcased Ahead Of Launch:
Kia has finally revealed details regarding the interiors and variants offered on the recently unveiled Seltos ahead of its August 22 launch in India. The Seltos will come in two trims: HT and a sportier top-spec GT Line. Both variants differ in areas like alloy wheels, door strips, upholstery, pedals and more. Vitara Brezza Petrol Could Get An August Launch:
With Maruti set to discontinue diesel vehicles once the BS6 norms kick in, It gave hopes for the Vitara Brezza to get a petrol heart, probably with a late August launch. The Vitara Brezza’s petrol options could include a 1.2-litre Dual Jet petrol-hybrid engine from the Baleno and a 1.0-litre Booster Jet unit from the Baleno RS. EVs In India To Get A Boost With Lower Taxes
EVs are set to get a much needed boost in the form of lower taxes in India as the government will slash GST rates for them from 12 per cent to 5 per cent. This was presented in the Union budget for 2019-2020. The government will also offer various tax benefits and other schemes in order to boost sales for EVs in India and further enhance their vision to go all-electric in the next few years. This could prove big for manufacturers like Hyundai and MG bringing in long-range EVs like the Kona Electric and the eZS, to kick-start an electric revolution in the country.
