Maruti Suzuki has finally entered the compact SUV segment with the just-launched Vitara Brezza. The new offering has been eagerly awaited since its concept was first unveiled back in 2012. It is powered by the same 1.3-litre DDiS 200 engine that also does duty in the Swift and Ertiga. The engine is capable of producing 90PS of power and 200Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Brezza will be offered in six variants, LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and the top-end ZDi+ model. The compact SUV faces direct competition from the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport in the market.
