British super car maker McLaren’s special operations team will be building a carbon fibre-finished version of the 675LT Spyder called the 675LT MSO Carbon Series. The 675LT MSO is based on the carbon fibre P1 concept car which the company showcased at the Geneva Motor Show this year.
According to McLaren, the retractable roof, A-pillar, engine cover and the rear deck are all made up of carbon fibre in the limited edition version which has resulted into considerable weight saving. However, the company hasn’t officially revealed the car’s weight yet.
Only 25 of these light weight limited edition MSO carbon series LT will ever be made and all of them have already been sold. So one will have to wait for a while before one of these gets listed for sale by any of the original 25 owners.
Under the hood of the limited edition 675LT MSO carbon series will be the same 3.8-litre V8 motor that produces a hefty 675PS of power and 700Nm of peak torque and goes all the way up to 330kmph. The normal 675LT does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 2.9 seconds and we can expect this carbon fibre-loaded version to do the same in around 2.7 seconds.
It will also come with three track cameras as standard which are usually a part of McLaren track telemetry package.
The standard McLaren 675LT competes with the Ferrari 488 GTB. However, the limited edition 675LT MSO carbon series technically has no competition yet.
