You Can Now Taste The Mercedes-AMG One In Forza Horizon 5

This is the first Mercedes-AMG model that is being featured in the cover of the game
The Mercedes-AMG One pushes the pinnacle of driving thrills, all to its origins that trace their way back to Formula 1 cars. Limited to 275 units worldwide, the project reportedly faced multiple delays due to the complexity of the hypercar’s engine and chassis construction. Now, understandably, the chances of you ever getting into its driver’s seat miniscule, but there’s an alternative solution: play Forza Horizon 5.
Mercedes has tied up with Microsoft to debut the AMG One on the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 video game that’s set for a November 5, 2021, release. And as befits the occasion, they even decided to christen the performance car the ‘Forza Horizon Edition’ in the game. It also bears mentioning that Microsoft has worked hard to keep the graphics of the vehicle as realistic as possible.
Meticulous attention to detail, like the active aerodynamics of the AMG One, have also been integrated to make the driving experience as realistic as possible. The hypercar comes with a extendable two-stage rear wing and fins on the bonnet to maximise downforce at high speeds. After all, aids will be needed to keep the car as close to the ground as it does over 350kmph.

This is courtesy of its 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged hybrid engine. Don’t let the displacement fool you. This motor, which is based on that from a Formula 1 car, works in tandem with four electric motors to put out over 1000PS, and can rev up to a dizzying 11,000rpm! And if the teasers and videos are anything to go by, the sound from this engine is very similar to a F1 car as well.
And just like other cars in the game, you can customise your AMG One to your heart’s content to make it stand out from the stock car. This includes everything from slapping on additional parts to pushing it well over the 1000PS threshold, to wrapping it up in your favourite colours to make it look cool.
And the good things don’t stop there if you’re a Mercedes-AMG fan. The Munich carmaker is working closely with Microsoft to bring more AMGs into the game. More announcements on this front are expected at the 2021 Munich Motor Show slated for September.
