Adding a new engine option, and with it some more excitement, to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class range the company has launched the Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC diesel in India. The luxury saloon currently comes with a 2.0-litre base version petrol (E200), a 2.1-litre diesel (E250 CDi) and the flagship 5.5-litre V8 petrol (E63 AMG) engines options.
Now it will also be available with a 3.0-litre V6, twin-turbocharged diesel engine (E350) capable of 266PS of peak power and a massive 620Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed dual clutch ‘7G-Tronic Plus’ gearbox which is also sported by other Mercedes-Benz E-Class models such as the E200 and E250 CDi. The BlueTEC diesel is good for a claimed 0-100kmph time of 6.6-seconds with a limited top speed of 250kmph.
Inside, the new car flaunts a high gloss black ash wood trim, rear seat entertainment system, while a panoramic sunroof comes as standard.The new Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC diesel is loaded with features such as 360-degree camera, intelligent light system, active park assist, attention assist, Harman Kardon surround 610watts 14 speakers, 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, Command Online with voice control.
The new Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC diesel will be assembled at the carmaker's Chakan plant in Pune. This new car will go against the likes of the BMW 530d and the Audi A6 3.0-litre diesel.
