The upcoming compact SUV will boast a horizontally oriented 10.1-inch touchscreen

MG has confirmed that its upcoming Astor compact SUV will be offered with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity in all its variants. Hence, all variants of the SUV will get a 10.1 inch touchscreen, which should be good news for those looking at lower variants of the SUV.

The SUV, which was partially revealed a couple of weeks ago, is best known for being offered with a dash-mounted AI assistant that can control the features of the car remotely, answer questions and even hold a conversation with you. That said, it is not yet known if this AI assistant will be offered on all variants.

MG will also offer ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) on the SUV. It will encompass features like auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, high beam assist, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. Other premium features will include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system. It will be a petrol-only offering, and could likely be offered with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine making 163PS and 230Nm. The transmission options might include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

The Astor is expected to be priced from Rs 12 lakh onwards, and will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
