The rapid increase in the sales of SUVs in India has prompted Michelin to come up with a range of tyres that would give buyers the confidence to take their SUVs over the beaten path. The LTX Force is a set of all-terrain tyres with big grooves and water pockets for effective water dissipation, and large blocks for traction on sand, slush and gravel.
The tyre width of the all-terrain LTX Force ranges from 215/65 R16 to 265/65 R17 to cover the needs of most ladder-frame vehicles in addition to serving the Nissan Terrano and the Renault Duster. Owners of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza can also switch to the LTX Force at the cost of a 3 per cent error in the speedo and odometer reading because of the taller side wall. Thar owners aren't left in the dark either, and there is a 31/10.5 R15 spec LTX, which is almost the same size as the 265/75 R15 specification.

215/65 R16: Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano
235/70 R16: Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Hexa, Sumo Grande, Safari, Safari Storme, Force One, Force Gurkha 2WD
235/75 R15: Mahindra Scorpio, Bolero, Tata Safari, Mitsubishi Pajero, Hyundai Terracan
245/70 R16: Ford Endeavour (old), Force Gurkha 4WD, Isuzu MU-7
255/65 R16: Upsize for 235/70 R16
265/65 R17: Toyota Fortuner
31/10.5 R15: Mahindra Thar
