The MY2020 Honda PCX150 has been unveiled in Thailand. The updates are purely cosmetic with new colours on offer. Other than that, the 150cc maxi-scooter continues to use the same powertrain and underpinnings as before.
Even the bodywork remains the same as the outgoing 2019 PCX150. It, however, gets four unique paint options: red/white and red/black with black wheels and red and silver with gold-painted wheels. It features a smart key, a smart circular controller with a blue backlit ring, and a welcome light that lights up the area around the floorboard at night. The LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, and LED turn indicators have been carried over as has the all-digital instrument console and apron-mounted AC charging socket. The PCX150 has enough underseat storage space to accommodate a full-size and half-face helmet.

The Honda PCX150 continues to be powered by the same 149cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor and V-matic transmission. It delivers around 13.5PS and 14Nm of torque. Suspension setup comprises 31mm telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers. The PCX150 weighs 129kg and has an 8-litre fuel tank. It has 14-inch alloy wheels with 100/80-14 front 120/70-14 rear tubeless tyres. Braking is via a 220mm front disc and 130mm drum brake with optional single-channel ABS.

The PCX150 was kind of Honda’s calling card at the auto expo. It was first showcased at Auto Expo 2016 and in electric trim at Auto Expo 2018. With most bikemakers moving towards large-capacity scooters and the prices of scooters rising post the BS6 update, we expect Honda to bring the PCX150 to India. The maxi-scooter could debut in India next year with a price tag in the region of Rs 1.1 lakh to Rs 1.3 lakh. It would compete with the upcoming Aprilia SXR160 and Yamaha NMax 155.
