Mahindra has officially named its new compact SUV the KUV100. The new KUV100 will the utility manufacturer’s smallest UV yet and will essentially aim at taking on the regular hatchback segments. The new compact SUV, codenamed S101 could be priced as low as Rs 4 lakhs and will get an automatic option too.
The KUV100 will be the first Mahindra UV to get a petrol engine in almost a decade. The new petrol engine will be a mFALCON (G80) 1.2-litre dual VTVT motor with power figure of 83PS. The diesel variant will be a new nFALCON (D75) 1.2-litre turbo-charged motor and will make 78PS of peak power. The KUV100 will most likely be a front wheel drive configuration vehicle with power transmitted from the engine via a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
In terms of looks, although not much has been officially revealed, from recent spy pictures it is clear that the KUV showcases a Ford EcoSport-esque styling and design. The KUV100 will have an upright stance like most tall boy hatchbacks which will be paired with plastic cladding on the sides to give it a sportier SUV stance.
The KUV100 will be available in 7 exciting colours of Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, Dazzling Silver, Aquamarine, Pearl White, Designer Grey and Midnight Black.
