Tata Motors expanded its popular Ace SCV (small commercial vehicle) range by launching the new Ace Mega. The new Tata Ace Mega will be the top-spec model under the Ace product portfolio and has undergone mechanical updates and addition of features. The small pick-up truck has payload capacity of 1 ton which is among the best in segment. The new Tata Ace Mega has been priced at Rs 4.31 lakh (ex-showroom Thane) which is a premium of around 10 to 12 per cent over the standard Ace. Powering the small pick-up truck is a 800cc, DiCOR, twin-cylinder motor churning out 40PS of maximum power that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The new powerplant has enabled the Tata Ace Mega to reach top speed of 90kmph while delivering 18.5kmpl (ARAI figure) mileage which is highest in its segment.

Talking about interiors the SCV features centrally positioned instrument console, mobile charger, digital clock, glovebox and optional music system. Other features on the Tata Ace Mega include disc brake ate front wheels, leaf spring suspension, 14 inch wheels and 175mm ground clearance. Initially the Tata Ace Mega will be sold only in seven states that include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Rajasthan and other states will follow soon.
