Yamaha had recently sent an invite announcing the beginning of a new chapter in India. We can't help but predict that the company will be launching a new product in India on August 21, 2017, which we believe could be the faired version of the Yamaha FZ25, new Yamaha Fazer 250. We have spotted the upcoming Yamaha bike being tested earlier, with production-ready version of the same being spotted last month.
Unlike the much bigger Fazer models sold internationally, the Fazer 250 will receive a full fairing. As seen from the spy pics, the new motorcycle is also expected to flaunt a dual-tone paint scheme. The front is not very appealing to the eye and seems to be designed around the same LED headlamp of the FZ25, with a flatter profile. The fairing will also get LED DRLs, integrated on either side of the headlamp set up. Apart from new fairing, the remaining body panels and design will be the same as seen on the FZ25.
On the mechanical front, the Fazer 250 will feature the same powertrain, which is seen on the FZ25 as well. The oil-cooled motor should continue to generate peak power of 20.9PS at 8000rpm, with 20Nm of torque coming in at 6000rpm. Performance and handling will differ from the FZ25 due to the added weight of the fairing. The Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.5 lakhs, and will rival against the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, and the soon to be relaunched Honda CBR250R.
