The Kicks is the only one of the three Nissan models currently on sale in India to get these offers
  • Nissan launched the 2020 Kicks with a new turbo-petrol engine in May after resuming operations post lockdown.

  • It gets benefits of up to Rs 65,000 including exchange benefits of up to Rs 50,000.

  • These offers are only valid till December 31.

With what felt like a long year finally coming to an end, Nissan, like many carmakers, has decided to make the last leg of 2020 a bit more exciting with its year-end offers. The Kicks is the only Nissan model that is eligible for these offers. The recently launched Magnite and GT-R sports car don’t get any sorts of benefits.

The Kicks gets benefits of up to Rs 65,000 as part of Nissan’s year-end offers. This is made up of Rs 15,000 in year-end bonus, and up to Rs 50,000 in exchange discount. It is offered in four variants: XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O), and gets six single-tone and three dual-tone colour options. In terms of features it gets connected car tech, a touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, push-button start and fog lamps with cornering function. Safety features include ABS with ESC and EBD, four airbags, 360-degree camera, and hill start assist.

It gets the choice of two engine options: a 106PS 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 156PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol. The naturally-aspirated engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox whereas the turbo-petrol gets the option of a CVT and a 6-speed manual. The 2020 Kicks was launched in May this year, when Nissan resumed operations in India after the pandemic shut things down. It retails from Rs 9.49 lakh to Rs 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom). As part of the compact SUV segment, the Kicks faces stiff competition from the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier.

Though Nissan’s fortunes have not fared so well, it has placed its hopes on the recently launched sub-4m SUV, the Magnite. It undercuts most of its competitors priced from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom), creating a niche for itself in the process. Aside from the Magnite and Kicks, Nissan also sells the iconic GT-R sports car in India for Rs 2.12 crore (ex-showroom).

In addition to Nissan’s offers, sibling Datsun is also offering year-end benefits of up to Rs 51,000 on its models, the redi-GO, GO, and GO+. You can check out those offers here.
