Nissan is all set to launch the AMT variant of the Terrano as the manufacturer has teased the upcoming variant through social media. The Nissan Terrano AMT will be equipped with the same ZF-sourced transmission that does duty in the Renault Duster. The launch of the Terrano AMT is likely to be held soon after the festive season.
The Terrano AMT is likely to be offered in the XL Plus and XV Premium variants and will be priced slightly higher than the manual variants. In terms of engine options, the AMT variant will be available in both the 85PS and 110PS versions of the 1.5-litre diesel engine.
With the exception of the AMT gearbox, the Terrano AMT will remain the same as its manual counterpart. As far as the all-wheel drive is concerned, Nissan currently has no plans to introduce it any time soon and will continue to offer the Terrano only with a front-wheel drive configuration.
In the compact SUV segment, Nissan is possibly the last to introduce an AMT variant in its offering. With the launch of the Terrano AMT, the compact SUV will be seen competing against the likes of the Renault Duster and the popular Hyundai Creta.
