Ola Electric has launched the Roadster X electric motorcycle in India. The bike is available in 3 variants: 2.5kWh for Rs 74,999, 3.5kWh for Rs 84,999 and the 4.5kWh for Rs 94,999 (all prices introductory and ex-showroom). Let’s have a detailed look at the features the bike comes with.
A Digital Display
The Ola Roadster X gets a 4.3-inch segmented-LCD instrument cluster. The LCD console shows the speed, range, tachometer, trip-meters, odometer, state of charge, time and side-stand indicator.
Smartphone Connectivity
The 4.3-inch display supports smartphone connectivity via the Ola Electric App to show turn-by-turn navigation. The app also gives the bikes Over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Riding Modes
The electric bike gets three riding modes: Sports, Normal and Eco. The Roadster X also gets a dedicated reverse mode to help the bike maneuver easily in a parking lot.
Rider Aids
The Roadster X gets cruise control, traction control, regen, geofencing, theft alerts, DIY Mode, brake-by-wire and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) alerts. The bike also has a USB charging port and an all-LED lighting setup to increase convenience.
Brake-by-wire
The Roadster X gets a brake-by-wire technology which essentially eliminates the need of having brake fluid. Ola claims it will improve the life of brakepads by combining mechanical braking with regen.
Ola Roadster X
The Ola Roadster X comes in three battery pack variants: 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh. It gets a mid-mounted 7kW motor. The 2.5kWh does the 0-40kmph sprint in a claimed 3.4 seconds and has a top-speed of 105kmph. The 3.5kWh variant and the 4.5kWh variant do the 0-40kmph sprint in 3.1 seconds and have a claimed top-speed of 118kmph.
The bike gets a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. It rides on an 18-inch front and a 17-inch rear alloy wheels set up wrapped around with a 80-section front and a 100-section rear tyre.
Rivals
The Ola Roadster X goes against the Revolt RV1, RV400Z, Oben Rorr EZ, Vida V2 and the Ather 450S in India.
