Lucasfilm, the production company famous for its Star Wars film franchise, is all set to wrap up its newest trilogy with Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker releasing on December 20. And we now know that German carmaker Porsche will be joining the franchise. Porsche and Lucasflim have partnered to create a new Star Wars spaceship to celebrate the final episode of the Skywalker saga.
The fantasy spaceship will make its debut at the premiere event of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker in December this year. For now the spaceship is in development with the two companies planning to meet in Stuttgart and San Francisco, California, over the coming weeks to finish off the final design.
Aside from the new spaceship’s unveil, Porsche will also be showcasing its first all-electric car – the Taycan at the event, that made its debut back in September. Deliveries of the EV in the US are expected to begin around the end of the year, with European customers likely to get their hands on the Taycan from the beginning of 2020.
Porsche has recently revealed the more affordable Taycan 4S at a sticker price tag of $103,800 that undercuts the Taycan Turbo S by a whopping $76,000 (Rs 54 lakh)! Bookings are open for the EV with deliveries claimed to begin from January 2020 in Europe. Meanwhile, Porsche has confirmed that the Taycan will be coming to Indian shores. It is expected to make its debut at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi in February 2020. With its affordable price tag of $103,800 (Rs 74 lakh, excluding taxes), it is likely that the Taycan 4S will be the model coming to India.
