The Sherpa Light family of vehicles from Renault are light armoured tactile vehicles designed to transport infantry, paratroopers, internal security personnel, etc. The Sherpa Light has been designed as an on-/off-road vehicle designed to perform both on the road as well as off it. The Station Wagon version of the Sherpa Light can transport up to six soldiers and or any weapon system. The vehicle has a maximum range of 1,000km and a top speed of 110km/h. It has 5.56 / 7.62 / 12.7mm weapon systems that can be manned or remotely operated.
The Sherpa Light Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was designed to transport up to 10 soldiers with room for their equipment in battle-hardened terrain. The APC has a large internal volume that can be used to carry weapon systems as well. The APC has a maximum range of 1000km and has a top speed of 110km/h. The Sherpa Light APC has 5.56 / 7.62 / 12.7mm weapon systems that can be manned or remotely operated.
The Sherpa Light Carrier is a cargo/utility version of the Sherpa Light that is available in both unarmoured and armoured variants with a short (2-seater) or long cab (4-seater). The Carrier can transport up to 4.5 tonnes of payload including 10 feet of shelter. It has a range of 1000km and is good for a top speed of 110km/h. The Sherpa Light Special Forces is ideally suited for tactical missions. It is also adapted to the specific needs of Special Forces with 5 seats, open top and folding windscreen, supports for machineguns. The Special Forces version of the Sherpa Light has a range of 1000km and a top speed of 120km/h, the fastest of the Sherpa Light range of vehicles. The Special Forces has 5.56 / 7.62 / 12.7mm machine guns.
Then there is the Sherpa Light High Intensity (HI) is ideally suited for combat missions demanding high protection levels for offensive scouting, counterinsurgency tasks, and convoy escorts. It is able to transport up to 4/5 soldiers and comes with a remotely operated 7.62 / 12.7 / 20mm weapon system. The Sherpa Light HI has a range of 1,000km and is good for a top speed of 110km/h.
