Priced at only GBP 13,650 (Rs. 10.83 lakh) on road in the UK, Renault unveiled its first affordable car, designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle for everyday use at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show

ZOE is a five-door electric hatchback that packs industry's most advanced technology, including no fewer than six 'world premiere' features designed to deliver user-friendliness, range and connectivity.

Due for sale this autumn, ZOE heralds a new era of affordable electric cars. ZOE is also the first to kickstart a lot of things. It is the first electric vehicle with a range of more than 130 miles and is capable of being charged at any level of power in between 30 minutes and nine hours – thanks to the Chameleon charger. Also, it is the first Renault vehicle to be presented with Renault R-Link, a multimedia system featuring a seven-inch touch screen tablet, navigation and connected services.

Renault ZOE: Interiors

Talking about the looks, ZOE on the outside is a sleek supermini with fluid lines, dynamic looks and signature LED headlights. Inside of ZOE is its modern 'eco' character with a bright colour scheme evocative of purity and latest interactive technology.

Under the covers is the electric motor with rotor coil generating power output of 65kW (equivalent to 90PS) and instantly delivering maximum torque of 220Nm.

Besides the ZOE, Renault also announced new three-cylinder turbo 0.9-litre TCe 90 petrol and 1.5 dCi 90 diesel engines and the facelifted Mégane 2012 range (Hatch, Coupé and Sport Tourer) at the Geneva show.
