British carmaker Rolls-Royce will be launching a two-door, four seater convertible- the Dawn on June 24 in India. The Dawn is based on the luxurious Wraith coupe and was first showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to Rolls-Royce the Dawn’s bodywork is 80% new compared to the Wraith on which it is based. The company also claims that the Dawn has enough room for four adults to sit comfortably and the only parts that it shares with the Wraith are the doors and the grille surround.
The Dawn is powered by a massive 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 which churns out 570PS of max power along with a mammoth 780Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels by an 8-speed ZF gearbox.
Just as one would expect from a Rolls-Royce, the Dawn is loaded to the gills with features. It comes with a Satellite Aided Transmission which uses GPS to predict the road ahead of the car and adjusts the transmission accordingly. It also gets BMW's iDrive system with a 16 speaker bespoke audio system.
Rolls-Royce will be launching the Dawn in India on June 24 and the car will come as a CBU(completely built-up unit). We can expect it to be priced around Rs 5.5 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
