Interiors will get an illuminated dashboard, up to 100kg of sound cancelling materials, and more creature comforts.
It will be powered by a 6.75-litre V12 alongside a new suspension setup, all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering.
Expect an India launch soon after the global debut.
Rolls-Royce has released what seems like the final teaser of its upcoming second-generation Ghost ahead of its official debut tomorrow on September 1. This is the first generational update to the luxury sedan after a decade-long stint and is slated to be a comprehensive one.
While the teaser video only reveals minor bits of the new Ghost, it deviates from the current Ghost in the overall silhouette. If you look closer at the front, you’ll notice a pair of what looks like rectangular-shaped LED DRLs which is a new addition. Rolls-Royce has also revealed that its laser headlight setup is capable of a visual range of up to 600mm. There is also a carryover bit in the form of the Spirit of Ecstacy.
Earlier teasers of the cabin reveal an illuminated dashboard with 152 LEDs used for the Ghost nameplate, more than 850 stars, and over 90,000 laser-etched dots carved into the surface of the dashboard. It’ll also feature up to 100kg of sound-absorbing material spread around the roof, the 500-litre boot and floor for optimum cabin insulation.
Under the hood, the next-gen Rolls-Royce Ghost will be powered by a 6.75-litre V12 engine. While performance details haven’t been revealed as yet, the carmaker has confirmed an all-new suspension setup codenamed the Planar as well as all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering.
Back home, the current-gen Ghost is no longer on sale, so expect the new Ghost to make its way to Indian showrooms soon after its global debut. It will take on the likes of the Bentley Flying Spur and the upcoming next-gen Mercedes-Maybach model.
