After delaying the launch for many months, Royal Enfield is finally ready to make a big announcement. According to our sources, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be launched in India in September 2020. The upcoming Royal Enfield bike was first spotted when the nation went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the 650 twins, the Meteor 350 is the most important new bike for the iconic brand as it will be the first motorcycle to be based on the J-Platform.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will replace the now discontinued Thunderbird 350X. RE had to rename the bike as ‘Thunderbird’ is trademarked in foreign markets and for this purpose, the older Thunderbird was rebadged as the Rumbler in a few countries. In terms of styling, the new bike is similar to the Thunderbird 350X with minor tweaks in the form of a single-pod instrument console as well as redesigned tail light and seats. RE is expected to offer a range of accessories on the Meteor 350 including different handlebar options.

As for pricing, we expect the Meteor 350 to come at a premium over the Thunderbird 350X. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 might be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). It doesn’t have any direct rivals and the only bike that comes somewhat close to it is the Jawa Perak.
