Social media has recently been flooded with posts of new Kushaqs breaking down due to an issue in the Electric Power Control (EPC) unit. Now, the Czech carmaker has diagnosed it as a faulty fuel pump and will be replacing it with a more robust unit at no extra cost. Moreover, Zac Hollis, director, sales and marketing, hinted at a precautionary recall for existing owners who haven’t yet faced the issue.
Based on most of the posts, most of the EPC issues seem to be occurring in the 115PS 1-litre TSI variants. This could be due to the difference in fuel quality across India, says the carmaker.
The larger 150PS 1.5-litre TSI engine, meanwhile, seems to be devoid of this problem. Take a detailed look at the specifications of the turbo-petrol engines:

In recent developments, Skoda has announced that the Kushaq has booked over 10,000 units since its launch on June 28. Moreover, the Czech carmaker, as a response to customer feedback, will soon be offering the Style automatic variants with six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
