Skoda Auto will be unveiling their first seven-seater SUV globally at the Paris motor show. The new SUV will be positioned above the Skoda Yeti, which will be fortified by the VW’s MQB platform intended for transverse engines with front-wheel drive. The SUV will be unveiled with a front-wheel drive arrangement; four-wheel drive is also likely to follow as offered on the Skoda Yeti. On engine offerings, the petrol and diesel power-plants will be borrowed from the Octavia and Superb which will either be paired with a 6-speed manual of a DSG automatic transmission.

Bolting together the big cabin and the motor, the Skoda SUV will have a body longer in comparison with the Yeti as the test vehicle till now has been spotted with a stretched rear section to accommodate the third row. The SUV on reaching production stage will be manufactured at Skoda’s Kvasiny factory in Czech Republic. The sale of the SUV is expected to commence by the end of 2016.

It is also understood that Skoda is working on updating the rest of its models, although there is no concrete information on which models are going under the scalpel, yet. We reckon the current Octavia to receive a facelift borrowing the sharp lines and grille with a re-sculpted headlight design as seen on its bigger sibling, the Superb.
