The F1 2011 App - wherever and whenever you need it!
So the 2011 Formula 1 season is upon us now, and a lot of us are thinking how to catch every one of the 19 scheduled races. While most will be glued to their television sets every Sunday, some of us might not be able to – after all there’s a lot happening on weekends – family functions, friends, travel, girl friends, wives, etc! But never fear, ‘cause Soft Pauer is here! The highly awaited smart phone application is out and promises to be a lot more exciting than what we’ve seen in the past few years.
Developed by Oxford, UK based firm Soft Pauer, the F1 2011 application has widened its vistas by being now available not only to iPhone users, but also to a widely expanding base of Android customers. Last year’s version – the F1 2010 app was rated with 5 stars by iTunes and won the SportBusiness Ultimate Sports App Award 2010 as well. The 2011 application now adds many more features to the already hit software to bring the action even closer and more elaborate to those with no television set in sight. With over 130 hours of racing action that is brought direct and in perpetuity from the track straight to the handheld device includes real time track positions and data streaming directly to the phone. There is also a fully interactive 3D map giving a view of the entire circuit, complete with driver positions, gaps and pitstops throughout any given lap. A whole lot more timing data has been added to the 2011 app and the live screens and leaderboards have been revised as well to make everything all the more accessible and enjoyable. Corner numbers and names have also been added so you know exactly where the action is happening. Want to change the current view of the 3D map on your device? Simple – just pan and position the map wherever and however you want to place it!
You can also zoom in on a particular driver and follow him on his lap or zoom out and view the entire track. The screen can also be split to show both the timing charts and the on-map action. And that’s not all – you can even read the live text commentary throughout a race in English, French or German! And if you think all this has made the app real slow, you’re wrong, because the F1 2011 app has been optimised to run faster than before. Also, you don’t need Wi-Fi to use this super-hot app – it also runs on GPRS! So no matter where you are or what you’re busy with, you can always stay tuned in to the action this Formula 1 season.
Get on to the Apple App Store or log in to the Android Market to download this app now!
