SsangYong celebrates its 60th anniversary with two special editions of the Korando and the Rexton W
Special Edition SsangYong Rexton W and Korando

SsangYong first made its entry into India with the launch of the Rexton in 2012. Although the brand is relatively newer to the Indian market, it has been around for a while now. In fact, it celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and to commemorate the occasion the Korean car maker has unveiled special editions of the Rexton W 4x4 and the Korando crossover.

The 2014 SsangYong Rexton W will now host front parking sensors, an electric sun roof, electrically adjustable passenger seats, front and rear heated seats over and above the standard features of the model. The Rexton W will also get a satellite navigation system. While a lot of features have been added to the Special Edition model, under the hood it remains unchanged. The Rexton is powered by a 2.0 litre diesel unit that pumps a maximum power of 155 PS and peak torque of 360Nm. Built on a steel ladder frame, the Rexton with its 3 tonne towing capacity has not only proved to be an able off-roader but also a comfortable urban SUV.

Along with the Rexton, the Korando crossover also gets a special edition with a new black mesh radiator grille; 18-inch diamond cut wheels, electric sunroof and a rear spoiler on the outside. The Korando will also get a refreshed dashboard. The Korando is powered by the same engine that works force in the Rexton W.

Both these cars will be made available with a manual and automatic gearbox options but only in pearl white lily metallic paint finish. There is no official confirmation about these models coming to India just as yet.
