SsangYong, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra has revealed its refreshed Rexton SUV in South Korea. The vehicle has received some visual and equipment updates for the new model year.
The SUV sports a new radiator grille, HID projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a new taillamp cluster and newly designed alloys. Inside the cabin, the additions include LED cabin lamps, heated seats, a new steering wheel and a new design for the central console.
Mechanically, the refreshed Rexton remains unchanged. The refreshed SUV will continue to be available with a 2.0-litre diesel, 2.7-litre diesel or a 3.2-litre petrol engine. Gearbox options include a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic. It also gets an option between all-wheel drive and part-time four-wheel drive.
Existing features on the Rexton include Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), cruise control, smart key entry, rain-sensing wipers, and a Bluetooth-enabled audio system.
The Rexton is SsangYong’s only offering in the Indian market and locks horns with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and the Hyundai Santa Fe. It remains to be seen if this facelifted model makes its way to India soon.
