What you are looking at is the 2020 Suzuki Burgman Street BS6, which has just been unveiled at Auto Expo 2020. The BS6-compliant Burgman Street is likely to be around Rs 6,500 more expensive than the BS4 model.
Just like most of Suzuki’s BS6-compliant two-wheelers, the Burgman Street has also received a minor cosmetic update. The update is so minor that it may take you a few minutes to differentiate the BS6 variant from the old model. But, to make things easier for us, Suzuki has introduced a new paint scheme. However, if you really want to stand out, you might want to go with the new MotoGP edition, which is likely to be around Rs 600 to Rs 700 more expensive than the base variant.
In terms of underpinnings, the Suzuki Burgman Street BS6 remains similar to its predecessor. The updated 124cc motor now makes 8.7PS at 6750rpm and 10.8Nm at 7000rpm. While the power output is similar to the outgoing model, torque is down by 0.2Nm. At 110kg, the BS6 Burgman Street is 2kg heavier than the older model.
Since Suzuki is a premium two-wheeler brand, we were expecting the brand to equip the Burgman Street with some additional features like an ACG starter and start stop system. But all you get is the same old digital instrument cluster and an LED headlamp.
The Burgman Street is the only maxi-scooter in the 125cc segment, so it doesn’t have any direct rivals. But in the 125cc segment, it goes up against the Activa 125 and the Yamaha Fascino 125.
