MotoGP editions seem to be the flavour of the month as Suzuki has launched the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition at Rs 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Yamaha had launched MotoGP-liveried R15 V3, FZ25 and Ray ZR a couple of days ago and the new Gixxer SF too got the livery just last month. The price hike for the SF 250 is of just Rs 801 - not much then.
There are a few distinguishing points between the two Gixxers. The obvious difference here being the ‘250’ decals located below the Ecstar logo. But the belly panels here get the traditional blue colour, the same panels are black in colour on the Gixxer SF. Apart from that, there are no other changes. The new edition will hit Suzuki’s premium showroom network soon.
Here’s the company’s official press statement:
Suzuki Motorcycle India Brings in the Racing DNA with the MotoGP edition of GIXXER SF 250
New Delhi, August 07, 2019: Looking to entice MotoGP fans and firing-up their passion for racing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. Taking styling and engineering cues from Suzuki’s legendary motorcycles - GSX-R and Hayabusa.
The MotoGP edition of GIXXER SF 250 sports the same Suzuki Racing Blue colour and livery theme of the 2019 Suzuki MotoGP machine, GSX-RR. From Team Suzuki Ecstar decals to the distinctive wheel pin stripes, every bit of the motorcycle hints the racing genes in the evolution of GIXXER SF 250 MotoGP edition.

Inspired by European design trends, GIXXER SF 250 comes with a 249cc, Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) enabled four-stroke, single-cylinder fuel injection SOHC engine, providing amplified functionality with SEP technology that promises power-packed performance and excellent fuel efficiency. The fully digital speedo meter, LED headlamps & tail lamps, sporty dual muffler, premium brushed finish alloy wheels and rear tyre hugger further bring out the bold appeal of the motorcycle.
The new oil cooling technology, which has been introduced in the GIXXER SF 250 comes with a lightweight and fast engine providing heightened performance. This innovative technology ensures smooth acceleration, high output, compactness, low fuel consumption, high durability and ease of maintenance. The advanced SOCS engine has been specifically developed to cater to the riding needs of Indian motorcycle enthusiasts.
The motorcycle is equipped with dual channel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) that ensures smooth braking and avoids lock-up during harsh road conditions.
