Suzuki GSX-S750: Top 5 Facts

Suzuki India created quite a buzz at the Auto Expo 2018 by riding in the new GSX-S750. Moreover, the company seems to be planning on launching the motorcycle in the coming months. But, is it worth the wait? Well, that can only be confirmed once we take it out for a spin. In the meanwhile, find out if the top five facts about it catch your fancy.

Inspired by its older sibling

The Suzuki GSX-S750 borrows many design cues from its elder sibling, the GSX-S1000. This inspiration can be seen in its single headlamp cluster and sharp fuel tank extensions, which give it a muscular look.

Along with this, the chiselled body lines and the sharp rear add more aggression to the naked motorcycle. Safe to say, it will attract a lot of attention on our roads.

It’s feature-packed!

Some of its features include an LCD display unit that has a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, dual tripmeters, gear position indicator, fuel range and more. It also comes with Suzuki's advanced traction control system that allows the rider to choose from three different modes - 1, 2, 4 and off.

Add to that, a low rpm assist feature, which helps in monitoring the engine speed to make sure that revs stay in the peak torque range even when the throttle is closed. Suzuki has also gone on to equip the GSX-S750 with ABS as a standard fitment.

More powerful than the older model

Powering the Suzuki GSX-S750 is an updated version of the 2005 GSX-R750's 750cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Although official power figures aren't out yet, Suzuki claims that the new bike makes 8PS more power than the model it replaces, taking the new power output to 114PS.

Premium Underpinnings

The middleweight Suzuki gets 41mm KYB USD forks with adjustable preload at the front and a KYB monoshock unit with adjustable spring preload at the back. Braking duties are handled by Nissin powered 310mm discs up front with a four-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper.

Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S21 tyres (front - 120/70 and rear - 180/55). Saddle height from the ground is 820mm and the bike tips the scale at 211kg (kerb).

It might be cheaper

Since the GSX-S750 will come to our shores via the CKD route, it will be the company’s second high performance motorcycle to be assembled at its factory in Manesar along with the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa. Also, thanks to CKD, we expect the Suzuki GSX-S750 to be priced at around Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will have to fight it out in an already heated up segment.

As a result, it will have to prove its worth against the likes of the Ducati Monster 797 (Rs 7.72 lakh), the Triumph Street Triple S (Rs 8.71 lakh) and the Kawasaki Z900 (Rs 7.68 lakh, all prices ex-showroom). To see how it stacks up against its competition on paper, click here.
