Suzuki has unveiled the pricing for the new GSX250R in the UK market. The new 250cc motorcycle from Suzuki has been priced at Rs 3.52 lakh in UK which is Rs 66,000 less than the Yamaha R3 in UK (Rs 3.43 lakh ex-showroom price for R3 in India). The Suzuki GSX250R is a fully-faired motorcycle that is set to make its debut in India by late 2017. We expect the new Suzuki motorcycle to be priced between Rs 3 and 3.5 lakh in India and to come via the CKD route. The Suzuki GSX250R will compete against parallel-twin motorcycles like the Yamaha R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the soon to be launched Benelli Tornado 302.
The styling of the 250cc bike is based on the Suzuki GSX-R1000. The sharp lines and sporty styling will appeal to the fairing fixated Indian bikers. The GSX250R is a good looking bike; the sporty tank, chiselled tank and the edgy tail section make the new Suzuki bike a visual delight. The fully-faired design language should appeal to the youngsters who will be the main target audience for the bike. Other highlights include raised clip-on handlebars, a fully digital instrument console, split-seat design, centre-set footpegs and a tall visor.
The bike is powered by the same 250cc, parallel-twin motor as seen on the Suzuki Inazuma which was on sale in India few years back. The liquid-cooled engine delivers 25PS of power and 23.4Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. Suspension components like 37mm telescopic KYB forts at the front and KYB adjustable monoshock at the rear, have been carried forward from the Inazuma. The Suzuki GSX250R is equipped with a 290mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the back to take care of braking, while ABS isn't offered even as an option. It weighs 178 kg and has a 15-litre fuel tank which will be beneficial while touring.
