Suzuki Intruder 150 Fi Launched

After showcasing it at the Auto Expo 2018, Suzuki Motorcycles has now announced the launch of the Suzuki Intruder Fi. It carries forward the same fuel injection unit that we've seen on the Japanese bikemaker's other offerings, the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. Suzuki has priced the Intruder Fi at Rs 1,06,896 (ex-Delhi), an increase of Rs 8,556. Other than the Fi update the bike remains unchanged both mechanically and cosmetically.

“Since its launch, the Intruder has received an overwhelming demand for close to 15000 units sold, overachieving our projected sales target by 25%. With a unique blend of premium appeal, coupled with futuristic features like ABS and now an efficient Fuel Injection technology, the Intruder is a premium offering in the cruiser segment, unlike any other”, said Sajeev Rajasekharan, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing, SMIPL.

Now, calling the Intruder 150 a head-turner would be an understatement. It manages to look like its older sibling, the Intruder M1800, but the bulky exhaust cans placed with the thin 17-inch tyres make it look like the guy who always misses leg day. That aside, the Intruder 150 does come with an attractive list of features. This includes LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and the fully digital instrument cluster from the Gixxer series.

Powering the baby Intruder is a 155cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine. This mill still puts out the same amount of power: 14.8PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6000rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With the addition of Fi, we expect the power delivery on the motorcycle to be a lot smoother. It can also turn out to be more frugal than the carb variant.

To even out undulations, Suzuki has equipped the Intruder with 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the back, the latter adjustable for preload. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, along with a single-channel ABS unit.
