Tata Motors has something special planned for the upcoming 2015 Geneva International Motor Show. The Indian car major has confirmed to ZigWheels that it will be showcasing its best-ever hatchback — Tata Bolt — but in a souped-up version to dazzle the international audience. The Tata Bolt Sport concept will not only produce more power than the standard car sold in India, but will also carry a new badge of performance, which Tata Motors will launch later this year.
Although the Tata Bolt Sport concept is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, but might churn out close to 120PS, which is an increase of 30PS over the standard car. The torque rating is also expected to go up, for which Tata Motors is said to be equipping the Tata Bolt Sport concept with a Fiat sourced C501 gearbox, that is also used by the Italian brand on its diesel multi-jet powered models.
To match the performance, Tata Motors would also make some cosmetic upgrades including sporty side skirts and new 17-inch alloy wheels. In a similar fashion the interiors will use bolder colours and combinations sticking to the sporty theme. Other mechanical changes would include stiffer suspension setup and lowered ride height, to make the drive more dynamic.
