After a long wait, Tata Motors is finally set to launch the Bolt hatchback tomorrow. The Bolt will be offered in petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol powered Bolt will sport a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that makes 90PS and 140Nm while the diesel Bolt with the 1.3-litre mill will produce 75PS and 190Nm.
Although based on the same Vista platform, Tata has ensured that the Bolt has a young design language. The smiley grille is pretty similar to the one we have already seen on the Zest and it is flanked by the ‘humanity line’ under it. For the first time in its class, the Bolt also sports projector type blackened out headlights. At the back there are the flame shaped tail lights and with it a chrome strip above the registration plate to add a bit of character. But this is how it will look in its stock form.
Dealerships will also provide additional body kit to make the Bolt look sportier. The aftermarket front bumpers with the extended black lip give the Bolt a bold stance. The rear bumpers too can be replaced for bigger dual tone ones. The Bolt will also get side skirts as additional fitment. In order to protect it from scratches, strips of plastic can also be fitted on all four corners. On the inside too, instead of the stock fabric seats, you can opt for the sporty rexine ones. All of this additional fitment will be offered at the dealership level at a reasonable charge of Rs 36,000.
Tata has already started taking online bookings for the Bolt since the first week of January, but now you can also book at the dealership closest to you.
