Here's a bit of news for those awaiting the arrival of Tata Motors' new vehicle named ‘Hexa.’ The Hexa will feature what Tata Motors calls the 'Super Driving Modes' system. The company claims these modes will provide customers with a pleasurable, comfortable and dynamic driving experience (well, a tall order in terms of capabilities). The new drive mode feature is a flawless combo of the car's engine performance, electronic stability program, instrument cluster displays and ambient lighting. Users will be able to select between different modes through a rotary knob on the centre console.
What all drives modes you can switch between? Try Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough. The SVP of Program Planning & Program Management for Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors Girish Wagh said, "Specially developed by Tata Motors engineering team in collaboration with our technology partners, the new Tata Hexa will deliver an excellent, unforgettable customer experience. With a new-generation ESP system accessible through the new Super Drive Modes, the feature allows the driver to select one of the four modes, allowing the vehicle to regulate the engine, based on the terrain and different customers' needs and desires."
The Hexa boasts of a modern architecture, plush interiors and class-leading features. The Hexa, which will also be available with an automatic gearbox, will be equipped with segment-first racecar mapping that provides an enhanced driving experience similar to performance cars. Below is a lowdown on the four different modes of the Super Drive Modes System:
Auto -- In this mode, the Hexa's performance is optimized to adapt automatically to all surface conditions. In auto mode, the system provides for a confident and reassuring drive on all surfaces. With focus on stability and traction at all times, the Hexa is also well balanced in terms of power and safety in this mode. Lastly, the car does not lose manoeuvrability even in extreme situations in auto mode.
Comfort -- The engine's power output, in this mode, provides for a comfortable drive. This mode is more suited for long journeys as it allows the Hexa to deliver as much power as needed. This allows the driver to maintain constant cruising speeds on the highway while being in control at all times.
Dynamic -- In dynamic mode, the Hexa goes full monty in terms of engine performance. The handling improves too and the car can take on corners in a spirited fashion. The Hexa's ESP intervenes late in this mode, or at just the right time, to ensure maximum safety.
Rough Road -- Lastly, this mode allows the driver to explore challenging off-road conditions or move over unyielding obstacles. It also tweaks braking performance to support rough surfaces. Hence, wheels lock up in controlled manner. This mode is more suited for slippery and tough conditions where ride stability and dynamic performance are sorely needed.
