Seven new models are expected from Tata Motors at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020

Tata Motors will have a big presence at Auto Expo 2020 that’s scheduled to happen between February 7-12. The Indian manufacturer is expected to reveal seven cars at the event, out of which five are SUVs! We are also expecting to see a handful of BS6 compliant Tata models as well. Further, Tata Motors could also reveal its future portfolio for the upcoming years. So without further ado, let’s see what cars could be present at the Tata Motors pavilion.

Tata H2X:

Back at Auto Expo 2018, Tata Motors took the wraps off the H2X, a Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta rival. Now, we expect to see a close-to-production version of Tata’s upcoming midsize SUV at Auto Expo 2020. Expect the Tata H2X to borrow plenty of styling elements from its bigger brother, the H5X (Harrier) and the H7X (Gravitas). Further, we could also see an electric version of the H2X in the future.

Tata Altroz EV:

The Tata Altroz EV has already been spotted on Indian roads and we expect to see a close-to-production spec at the event. The Tata Altroz EV will utilise the Nexon EV’s Ziptron powertrain and is expected to look slightly different when compared to the ICE model. Inside, the Altroz EV will most probably share its dashboard with the standard model. The Altroz EV is expected to hit roads by end-2020.

Tata Gravitas:

Tata’s upcoming flagship SUV, the Gravitas, is essentially a 7-seater version of the butch Harrier. The Gravitas comes with a tweaked exterior design to accommodate the third-row bench seat. It’ll share its dashboard with the Harrier, which is no bad thing. Under the hood, the Gravitas will be offered with a more powerful 170PS 2.0-litre Multijet unit that’s expected to be BS6 compliant. Apart from a manual, a 6-speed manual is also expected.

Tata Nexon Facelift:

The Nexon facelift will borrow plenty of styling bits from its electric counterpart. This is not a bad thing as the Nexon EV is quite a looker! Further, expect the interiors to be spruced up for a richer feel. Under the hood, the facelifted Nexon will be offered with the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel powertrains, albeit with upgrades to meet BS6 emission norms. Further, expect feature additions like cruise control and connected car technology as well.

Tata Harrier Automatic:

Tata Motors will address the Harrier’s biggest grouse -- a lack of an automatic gearbox -- soon. The BS6 compliant Harrier is expected to be offered with a 6-speed automatic sourced from Hyundai. Further, the BS6 compliant version is expected to be uprated to develop 170PS. This has been a long time coming and we’re hoping to see the Harrier automatic sooner than later.

Tata Tiago/Tigor Facelift:

The Tata Tiago/Tigor are set to get their first major update in the form of a facelift. Styling updates include a new bumper, headlamps, and grille that take design cues from the Altroz. The side and rear-end are expected to be identical to the standard model. Inside, we expect a refreshed colour scheme to lift the ambiance. Under the hood, both models will come with the 1.2-litre petrol engine as Tata will discontinue the 1.05-litre diesel engine due to BS6 emission norms. Expect both models to be launched before April 2020.

These are the Tata cars that could be present at Auto Expo 2020. Which Tata car are you eagerly waiting for? Let us know in the comments section below.
