Tata Motors have launched the all-new Tata Bolt at a price of Rs 4.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Bolt, an all-new hatchback from Tata Motors will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai i20 in the highly competitive hatchback segment. The Bolt, will come with both diesel and petrol engines.
At the front, the Bolt sports the same smiley grille and the humanity line like the one we have already seen on the Zest. In profile it will look quite similar to the Tata hatchbacks we have known except for the blackened out C-pillar. The blackened out headlights and flame shaped taillights add a touch of sportiness to the Bolt. On the inside, the dashboard looks pretty similar to the one on the Zest, but the Bolt will get an all black dash.
The Tata Bolt is offered with a 90PS, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor and a 75PS, 1.3-litre diesel engine, both mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. As of now, we don’t expect the Tata Bolt to be offered with an automatic transmission, but it will come with Eco, City and Sport driving modes as seen on the Tata Zest. The home grown automotive major has already started accepting online booking for the new small car with a minimum booking amount of Rs 11,000.
