The manufacturer has reserved the all-black theme for its premium vehicles

  • Tiago and Tigor will not get the Dark Edition.

  • All-black Tata Safari to be launched in coming months.

  • Currently, Harrier, Altroz, Nexon and Nexon EV are available in Dark Editions.

Officials at Tata Motors have confirmed that its entry-level models like the Tiago and Tigor won’t get the stealthy all-black Dark Editions.

This comes after speculation that the manufacturer could launch the Dark Edition for the Tiago and Tigor as Tata Motors had trademarked the name for both the models, despite them not being green-flagged now.

Speaking at the launch event of the Tiago NRG, Tata’s officials were quick to add that only their premium models will sport the all-black colour. Therefore, the Safari will feature this all-black theme in the future and it could come right in time for its first anniversary in January 2022.

The Dark Edition was first launched in the Harrier, before it was made available in the Altroz, Nexon, and Nexon EV recently. All four models feature an all-black theme inside out and command a premium of around Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the model and trim you choose.
