Tata Motors has announced that the Tata Xenon pickup truck will be the official transport vehicle for the U Mumba team in the upcoming fourth season the Pro Kabaddi league. At a U Mumba event held in Raigad last week, the U Mumba team was seen posing with the Tata Xenon pickup truck.
Anurag Dubey, business head- SCV, LCVs and Pickups, Commercial Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, commenting on the association, said, “We are very happy to associate with team U Mumba, for yet another exciting season of Pro Kabaddi. This is a sport that has long been associated with strength and endurance similar to the attributes of the Tata Xenon. Kabaddi is also well followed in the interiors of the country and we would like to associate with the sport to engage with our audience to further strengthen the Xenon’s presence. We wish all the players the very best for this season and look forward to many more such successful associations.”
The Tata Xenon pickup truck is powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged DiCOR diesel engine which puts out 140PS of max power along with a healthy 320Nm of peak torque.
It also comes with a low-range 4WD configuration with shift-on-fly technology as well. The transfer case is electronically operated and lets you choose between 2H, 4H and 4L while the vehicle is on the move.
The Tata Xenon competes with the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway and the recently-launched Isuzu D-Max V-Cross in the pickup truck category.
