The First Ever Mahindra Thar Roxx With VIN 001 Has Now Been Delivered To The Winner

Mahindra has delivered the first unit of the Thar Roxx, with VIN001, to Akash Minda, the winning bidder. Similar to its approach with the 3-door Thar, Mahindra auctioned the first-ever Thar Roxx, attracting intense competition with 10,980 registrations for the bid. Ultimately, the hammer hit the desk at Rs 1.31 crore, for the same person who took home the first-ever Thar 3-door. 

The proceeds from the auction have been doubled, with Mahindra matching the bid amount, and the total donation of Rs 2.62 crore has been made to the Naandi Foundation for a good cause.

The first ever Thar Roxx to have found a space at Akash Minda’s garage is finished with the Nebula Blue shade following the winner’s choice and is a 4x4 diesel automatic variant. It also has an exclusive badge signed by the company’s chairman, Mr Anand Mahindra. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx Overview

The Mahindra Thar Roxx has been one of the hottest launches of this year and the 5-door offroader is offered in six different variants and gets both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets a 4-wheel-drive option however that is only limited to the diesel option only.

It has plenty of amenities to balance comfort along with adventure like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and ventilated front seats. 

In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and ADAS features. 

Price and Rivals

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The off-roader rivals the Force Gurkha 5-door and is a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The Roxx’s pricing also puts it as a rival to compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
