The Grand Tour is coming back with a new special that will take you on a journey across Central Europe in really unconventional cars

The greatest automotive trio is reassembling for yet another special. Called the Eurocrash, this one promises to be an entertaining 1,400-mile (2,253km) road trip through Central Europe. Now these guys are known to do some offbeat road trips in bizarre conditions and locations; but while this time location seems to be anything but extreme, it is the choice of whips chosen that is garnering a lot of attention.

Saying the selection of cars is odd would be heavily underselling it. Beginning with Jeremy’s ride - a 1990 limited run Japenese Mitsuoka Le-Seyde with retro bodywork based on the Nissan Silvia S13. Richard Hammond’s car - a very bright 2003 Chevrolet SSR with a V8 engine lurking underneath. And finally, James May’s Crosley Convertible - a 1940s American car which looks like doing a 1,400 mile journey, not necessarily all smooth sailing, is beyond its capabilities.

But the show is so much more than just the cars. Yeah sure, watching three men drive around in unusual cars might not sound very interesting to watch, but it is. And that's down to their chemistry which has been developed over their 20+ years of working together. That’s more time together than what most couples manage to pull off. They go to great lengths to pull off some deranged sequences, road trips and challenges and it's that underlying quality that sets that apart from the rest.

The trio was last seen in A Scandi Flick special on Amazon Prime where they set fire to an Audi, crashed and almost drowned a Mitsubishi Evo – both done on separate occasions – and drove through a cold war submarine base full of Dutch marines. So yeah, even though we don’t have a trailer yet, that should set some context as to what you can expect.

The sixth Grand Tour special called Eurocrash will be released on Amazon Prime on Friday June 16 and we can’t wait to watch what it has in store for us!
