The lockdown-stricken month of May 2021 saw pretty dismal sales for premium bikes between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. However, things have picked up in June 2021 as the numbers see a steady rise. Here are the top five premium bikes that roped in the most sales in June 2021:
Model |
Units Sold In June 2021 |
TVS Apache |
30,233 |
Royal Enfield Classic 350 |
17,377 |
Yamaha FZ |
11,084 |
Royal Enfield Meteor 350 |
8,770 |
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 |
5,317 |
Like May 2021, the top honours went to TVS’ Apache lineup. Now, this is a cumulative number of the Apache RTR 160, RTR 160 4V, RTR 180, and the RTR 200 4V, but it’s impressive nevertheless.
Runner up to the Apaches is the Royal Enfield Classic 350, with over 17,000 units sold last month. Expect this number to only get better now that the 2021 Classic 350 is production-ready and merely weeks away.
Plonked between the Indian bikemakers is the Japanese Yamaha FZ lineup. With 11,084 units sold, the number has certainly improved, probably thanks to the addition of the FZ-X. That said, the FZs are still miles away from their arch rivals, the TVS Apaches.
In fourth and fifth place, we have the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Bullet 350. While the Meteor 350 witnessed a 5,000-unit surge in its sales, the Bullet 350 sold 1,300 units less, as compared to May 2021.
