It seems Triumph Motorcycle has a surprise in store for its consumers. A bobber edition of the popular Triumph Bonneville has been spotted testing near Barcelona where it has setup a research and development centre. The Triumph Bonneville bobber wasn’t sporting any camouflage and was equipped with a floating saddle, round headlamp, single pod instrument cluster, fork gaiters and cafe racer style bar end rear-view mirrors. The rear tyre was sporting a large mudguard and the rear monoshock unit as opposed to the twin shock as found on the current offering has been hidden to endow it with a hard-tail bobber styling. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup at the rear. Braking is done by disc brake on both the wire spoke wheels.
It is rumoured that the British bikemaker is developing many new models based on the next generation Bonneville that will most likely debut at the 2015 EICMA or INTERMOT motorcycle show later this year. The next generation Triumph Bonneville range will be powered by a new liquid-cooled motor with a rumoured displacement of 1,100cc as opposed to the current air-cooled 865cc unit. The new engine will also see the power output to be bumped from 70PS to 100PS. The existing Triumph Bonneville portfolio consists of the T100, Thruxton, Scrambler and the standard variant. It is rumoured that the British manufacturer is working on two new offerings under the Bonneville family which includes the above Bobber and a sportier cafe racer styled bike with upside down forks and the works.
