Triumph India has sent out a release notifying that it will be launching a new motorcycle on October 18th. The upcoming motorcycle form the British bikemaker we feel will be the new Triumph Bonneville T100. The classic motorcycle was recently unveiled at the INTERMOT motorcycle show in Germany and will be positioned between the Bonneville Street Twin and the Bonneville T120. The styling of the new motorcycle is similar to the bikes from the Bonneville family with classical lines that will appeal to the loyalists. The new motorcycle is an interesting combination as it has the motor from the Bonneville Street Twin while the frame is from the T120. The new Triumph Bonneville T100 will be the second most affordable bike in the Bonneville portfolio and is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom in the Indian market.
Internationally the Bonneville T100 is offered in two variants but we feel the T100 Black will not be offered to us. Talking about firepower, the 900cc, parallel-twin motor delivers 55PS at 5,900rpm and 80Nm of peak torque is made available at just 3,230rpm. The new Bonneville retains all the goodies as seen on the Bonneville T120 including traction-control, ride-by-wire throttle, an LED rear light and engine immobiliser. The saddle is also a new unit with deeper foam which is said to offer better comfort while the piping and detailing makes it pleasing on the eyes.
