TVS Rolls Out BS6-compliant TVS Apache RTR 160 2V

The RTR 160 2V features a fuel-injected motor and GTT for 2020.
The bike gets new graphics and a new Gloss Red colour scheme.
Apart from this, the bike remains unchanged.

Hosur-based TVS Motors has launched the Apache RTR 160 2V BS6 model in India. Priced at Rs 93,500 (front disc) and Rs 96,500 (rear disc), the updated models carry a premium of Rs 5,722 and 5,643 over their respective BS4 counterparts. That said, you do get a couple of extra goodies for the extra dough. For 2020, the Apache RTR 160 2V BS6 comes equipped with Glide Through Technology (GTT) and a fuel-injected engine. GTT is essentially a torque assist system, which automatically increases engine torque when you want to ride the bike at low speeds in city traffic. 

The bike is powered by a 159.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which to our surprise, produces more power than before. The RTR 160 2V now puts out 15.53PS at 8400rpm and 13.9Nm at 7000rpm -- that’s 0.42PS and 0.87Nm more than the BS4 model. You can book the bike across any TVS Motor Company dealership in India. There are six colours to choose from with Gloss Red being the only new addition.

This is the fourth BS6-compliant motorcycle which has been rolled out from TVS following the Apache RTR 160 4V, RTR 200 4V, and Star City Plus. The brand will also be launching its first electric two-wheeler on January 25. It is likely to take on the Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450X.

2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 BS-VI motorcycle is powered by a 159.7cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, air-cooled engine motor; which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine develops 15.53 PS at 8,400 RPM and 13.9 NM of torque at 7,000 RPM. Similar to the recently introduced in the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 4V motorcycles, the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 will also come equipped with an in-built, first in segment GTT – Glide Through Technology for low speed urban riding and enables an extremely smooth and controlled ride. Alongside, the RTRs continue to delight with a racier signature exhaust note.

Priced at ₹ 93,500 (front Disc) and ₹ 96,500 (rear Disc) (ex-showroom Delhi), the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 BS-VI motorcycle will be available in SIX colours namely Pearl White, Matte Blue, Matte Red, Gloss Black, Gloss Red and T Grey.
