[Update: TVS has launched the Jupiter 125 in India at Rs 73,400 onwards (ex-showroom Delhi). For the specifications, variant-wise pricing and features, read our launch story]
Fresh from the launch of the 2021 Apache RR 310, TVS Motors is now set to take on the 125cc commuter segment by launching two new offerings. These could be a new motorcycle and a scooter, both expected to launch by the end of September 2021.
While there isn’t much information on either, we reckon one might just be the much-awaited Jupiter 125. The new Jupiter would probably take inspiration from the NTorq 125 in the performance department, but at the same time target the commuter space with more practical features and design.
The second offering could be the Fiero 125, considering TVS had filed a trademark for this name last year. Again, this could use the same 125cc powerhouse from the NTorq, but we expect it to be more fuel-efficient, thanks to a 5-speed gearbox.
Considering TVS is usually generous with features, we can expect LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and even Bluetooth connectivity in the two offerings.
When launched, the TVS 125cc scooter will lock horns with the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. While the Fiero 125 will rival the Honda SP 125, Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, and the Hero Glamour 125.
