TVS has announced that its 100cc commuter motorcycle, the Sport, has crossed the 20 lakh sales milestone. In order to commemorate the event, the Hosur-based manufacturer has launched a special edition of the motorcycle called TVS Sport Silver Alloy Edition with a price tag of Rs 38,961 (ex-showroom Madhya Pradesh).
As the name suggests, the TVS Sport Silver Alloy Edition gets silver-coloured alloy wheels as opposed to the black units seen on the standard variant. Apart from that, the bike remains the same as before. The bike is available in two colour options - Black Silver and Volcano Red.
The TVS Sport Silver Alloy Edition draws power from a 99.7cc air-cooled engine that produces 7.4PS of power and 7.5Nm of torque. TVS says the engine has been tuned for optimum fuel efficiency with the help of the company’s patented Econometer with Power and Eco modes. The company claims the bike is capable of achieving a fuel efficiency figure as high as 95kmpl and with the motorcycle’s 10-litre fuel tank, you might not have to fill it up for an entire month!
The Silver Alloy Edition shares its chassis and other cycle parts with the standard variant and uses telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by drum brakes on either ends.
The Silver Alloy Edition will be sold alongside the standard model across all TVS dealerships in the country. The TVS Sport is a pretty popular offering in the commuter segment and competes against the likes of Hero HF Dawn, Bajaj Platina Comfortec, the Honda Dream Yuga and Yamaha Saluto RX.
