Ultraviolette’s F77 Will Now Arrive In The First Half Of 2022, Thanks To More Funding

The Bengaluru startup has worked quite a bit since we last rode the bike and has promised good things

Premium electric bike startup Ultraviolette has received a fresh round of funding, which should accelerate the arrival of the F77 electric sport bike into the market. TVS Motor Company has been a heavy investor in the electric startup and the support from the Hosur-based bikemaker continues this time round as well.

It has been over two years since we last rode the Ultraviolette F77 at the MMRT. There were quite a few promising bits about the bike and certain key areas the company still needed to work on. Recently, we did catch up with the folks at Ultraviolette as they shared an overview of what all changes the F77 has undergone over the past couple of years.

Key focus has been put on improving the dynamics of the motorcycle as well as improving the performance efficiency as the battery charge depletes. The F77 is also claimed to have more range on offer now, which should be welcoming news as the earlier figure of 150km did seem a bit less.

Ultraviolette Raises Series C Investment from TVS Motor Company and Zoho Corporation

Investment to be deployed for production and commercial launch of the F77

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India: Ultraviolette Automotive Pvt. Ltd., an innovator in sustainable mobility, today announced that it has raised a new round of capital in its Series C funding, led by TVS Motor Company. Zoho Corporation has joined this round along with TVS Motor, to support Ultraviolette’s vision of developing high performance mobility solutions for India and global markets. TVS Motor Company, which has been an early backer of the company, has led the investment in this round.

Ultraviolette, which is setting-up its manufacturing and assembling facility in Electronics City, Bengaluru, will utilize this investment towards the production and commercial launch of its high-performance electric motorcycle, the F77, and will roll out the first batch of motorcycles in the first half of 2022.

Ahead of the commercial launch of the motorcycle, Ultraviolette Automotive has been rigorously testing the F77 across different terrains in the country, to validate the motorcycle’s drivetrains, chassis and battery capability using several quantitative and qualitative parameters. The company is currently in the final stages of testing and will commence production of the F77 in the first half of 2022.

Ultraviolette has received over 50,000 booking interests for the F77 from across the world and will begin test rides and deliveries of the motorcycles in the first half of 2022.
