Only yesterday Mahindra shared a teaser image of the interior of their upcoming compact SUV – the TUV300. Little did they know that soon enough, undisguised images of the TUV300 will soon be making its rounds on the Internet.
Like the New Age Mahindra XUV500, the TUV300 too is expected sport the claw-inspired grille up front, flanked by sharp looking headlights on either side. The variant that was spotted was probably the lowest one that will go on sale, therefore didn't sport fog lamps, alloy wheels or body coloured bumpers and ORVMs.
At the back, the TUV300 gets a sideways opening tailgate with the spare wheel mounted on it. The C-pillar gets gloss black finish under which are those vertically stacked tail lamps. The overall design is boxy, much like the Bolero.
Yesterday, Mahindra gave us a glimpse of what the interior of the TUV300 would look like. The higher variants will come with a dual-tone beige and black dashboard. The steering wheel is all new, as is the twin-pod instrument cluster. However, in terms of function, it looks similar to the older XUV500 with its gazillion tell-tale lights.
Details of the engine are still sketchy, but the TUV300 is expected to come with a 1.5-litre engine to make the most of the excise duty benefits for cars under 4 metres in length. This new engine will be badged as the mHawk80. The Mahindra TUV300 will be launched on September 10 and will go against the likes of the Ford EcoSport.
