In It's 10 years of lifespan, Bugatti has manufactured only 300 coupes and 150 roadsters, out of which only 48 Super Sport were built. Now, the last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport coupe is up for auction and features the serial number '300'. If this is not enough to float your boat, then let us tell you that the last Veyron Super Sport coupe is one of the eight US-spec Super Sport models. It was showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show along with the first built Veyron. The car was sold by the French automaker back in August 2012 and is now being auctioned in Arizona in January 2017.
The Veyron that is being auctioned next year has been driven only for 643km, out of which, 432km were driven by the Bugatti engineers themselves for the final testing before the car was delivered. When launched, the car carried a price tag of around $1.7 million (Rs 11.4 crore) and now since the Super Sport comes under the category of rare cars, it is expected to be sold for around $2 million (Rs 13.4 crore).
Powering the beast, is a massive 8.0-litre, quad-turbo, W16 engine which pumps out 1215.5PS of power and around 1500Nm of peak torque. With so much power, the car catapults from 0-100kmph in just 2.5 seconds and has a limited top speed of 257 mph (413kmph). When compared with the standard Bugatti Veyron, the Super Sport has more power (202PS more), larger turbos, two additional fuel pumps, and is 100 pounds lighter.
Sadly, the Bugatti Veyron was discontinued in 2015 and was replaced by its elder sibling - the Bugatti Chiron (first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show) - which borrows its engine from the Veyron. However, the engine is heavily tuned to produces 1521PS of massive power. The Chiron, however, will have a limited production of 500 units only.
